Children of the Karrick-Har
The dwarves of the Karrick-Har regard themselves as among the oldest descendants of Torin’s first work. They belong to many holds, dynasties, clans, guilds, and sacred traditions. A dwarf’s hold shapes manners, loyalties, trades, grudges, and ideas of what is proper.
Craft, Oath, and Memory
Good work is a form of truth. Smiths preserve sacred practice, soldiers study discipline and honourable battle, and masons write dynasties in stone. Oaths and contracts may carry weight for generations, because memory is one of the pillars that keeps a people standing.
Kinship and Reputation
Dwarves share old, productive ties with gnomes and friendly relations with halflings, especially traders, cooks, caravaners, and innkeepers. Outsiders often find them severe and slow to trust, but also loyal, generous, and capable of astonishing artistry once respect is earned.
