A People of Many Roads
Humans spread rapidly across Auldwyn, settling fertile valleys, riverways, coasts, forests, frontiers, and cities. There is no single human culture. A coastal merchant, village hunter, noble knight, temple scholar, and sixth-generation farmer may share little beyond their talent for adaptation.
Human towns often become meeting places between peoples, where dwarven metalwork, elven medicines, halfling caravans, gnomish devices, and human grain pass beneath the same roofs.
Hearth, Field, and Wall
The ordinary foundations of human life matter most: farms, mills, wells, roads, shrines, markets, workshops, and walls. Land carries memory, and a family farm, chapel, orchard, or ancestral road may become sacred in all but name.
Their prayers are often practical: keep the roof standing, bless the field, guard the road, let the dead rest, and help the soldier come home.
Ambition and Inheritance
Humans build quickly and often believe tomorrow can be improved through enough labour and courage. Their settlements rise from refugees, ruined halls become inns, and battlefields become markets. Their lives are brief, but their footprints are everywhere.
