Plan a Neverwinter Nights character before you make it. IronWaffle's Auldwyn Character Builder takes you through race, alignment, ability scores and every level's class, skills and feats, then checks the build against Auldwyn's rules.

What the Character Builder does

IronWaffle's Auldwyn Character Builder is a free NWN character builder for Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition, made for Auldwyn players. It runs in your browser and walks you through five steps in the same order as character creation in game: name and race, alignment, abilities, a level-by-level plan, and a summary.

Use it to try a build before you commit to it in game, or to plan a character's levels all the way up.

Steps 1 and 2

Pick a race and alignment

Name your character and choose one of the seven races: human, dwarf, elf, gnome, half-elf, half-orc or halfling. The builder shows each race's ability adjustments and racial traits, and applies the bonuses to your scores.

Next, choose one of the nine alignments. Some classes restrict alignment, so the builder locks any class your alignment can't take.

Step 3

Spend your ability points

Distribute 30 points with NWN's point-buy system, at the same costs as in game. Each score shows your racial bonus, the modifier, and what the ability affects. The +1 ability increases at levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 come later, in the level plan.

Step 4

Plan your build level by level

Level your character one level at a time, just like in game. For each level you choose a class and see its hit die, attack bonus, skill points, good saves, class skills and the feats it grants for free. The builder checks requirements, so you can only take classes your character qualifies for.

Then spend that level's skill points and pick your feats. Class skills cost 1 point per rank and cross-class skills cost 2. Unspent skill points are banked and carry forward, following Auldwyn's rules.

Step 5

Check and share your character

The summary lists your classes, base attack bonus, hit points, ability scores, skills and feats, plus a levelling guide with what to pick at each level. It also tells you whether the character is valid to play on Auldwyn.
